The car’s price is $130,000, which is more than the regular gas version that costs around $80,000. But, the electric version has cool stuff like a big curved screen inside and it can go really far – 450 miles! The electric Escalade has three rows of seats, which is not common in electric cars.
Mark Royce explained that this new car is part of GM’s plan to offer all kinds of electric cars, from super fancy ones like this Escalade to more affordable ones. They are also making an electric truck and a cheaper SUV.
The talk also touched on some challenges. There are discussions with workers about how things are going to work at the factories. There’s a deadline in September for these talks. Mark Royce said that they’re getting ready to make the batteries for the electric cars, but everything needs to come together just right.
